A Little Pick Me Up is a deeply personal book from award-winning blogger Katie Portman where she talks honestly about the challenges she has faced as a woman and how she has overcome them. She invites her fellow females to do the same. You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
Synopsis
Since the beginning of time, women have been made to feel bad about themselves. From our dress sizes to our careers, from our parenting skills to simply having an opinion, modern women come under immense, relentless pressure to look and behave in certain ways.
The stories we tell ourselves can lead to some dark emotions. They can even result in us hating ourselves – and other women.
It doesn’t have to be this way, though. We just need to realise our power, our value and our worth.
This book, if you allow it to, could change your life…

My Review
As a blogger myself, I love to support fellow bloggers so picked this up to see what it was all about. I have followed Katie and her blog for many years and felt like I needed a little pick me up, as the title suggests.
Katie talked about all the different things she has gone through and the different ways she has overcome them. She talks about the darkest emotions we can feel as women – from feeling we are too fat or that we aren’t appreciated in our job. We have all been through these different emotions including jealousy, fear and guilt. Katie gives some proactive ways to get through them that she herself has done.
This is a beautiful book and really helps me feel more positive. I recommend that everyone reads this book if they are feeling a little down, especially during these hard times.
I gave this 4 out of 5 stars.

Sounds worth reading. As somehow we need to learn to accept ourselves.
